From day one of my job search, I was consistently using the job tracker to keep track of all my actions
A job tracker is a spreadsheet used for storing your job application data
If you are just applying to jobs blindly and expecting interview calls
Then you are making a BIG mistake
You will never be aware of which things are working for you
Nor which things are causing you rejections
During my job search, I was able to get interview calls
Because I was constantly changing my strategies
And that was only possible because the job tracker was helping me in decision-making
Based on that, I continuously changed my resume and projects until I started receiving interview calls
If you are daily applying for jobs then most probably after 2-3 days you won't even remember the names of the companies
This was just about the name of the company
For every job application, you should organise a lot of information regarding the job
And remembering it by heart isn't possible at all
This is where the job tracker performs its role
Easy to organize and access all the information
A few days back I created a post showing the number of job applications, rejections, and DMs it took me to get my first job
That was only possible because of the job tracker
I also once created a post showing a trend of receiving instant updates on job applications from companies
And right after some days, I got my first job
Also, you should store the JDs of every job
When you get an interview call, then you must have to prepare for it based on the JD
Because not every time will you get the JD from the team and this thing has happened to me
Preparing without a JD is very time-consuming and difficult as there are a lot of things out there to remember
