Having been away from India for over two decades, the idea of relocating with my American partner feels both exciting and a little overwhelming. Your balanced perspective on the advantages and challenges of life in both India and the USA was incredibly helpful. I really appreciated how clearly you described the differences between life in the Bay Area and an Indian cosmopolitan city- it gave me a clear understanding of what to expect. Your insights on what it takes to lead a FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) lifestyle in India and the kind of financial planning involved were also ensuring.   I recommend Avan for anyone who’d like to have a tangible change in their career. I asked Avan if he could be my mentor at the most pivotal points in my career, where it was pertinent that I got the right advice - relevant advice that came from practical experience. And that’s exactly what I got from him. I’ve asked a lot of questions and there was not one instance where I didn’t have the takeaway I needed to draft my next step in whatever career challenge I had. He helped me understand what could be next step, and also went to the details of how to achieve them. Add to this, his ability to clearly communicate his knowledge- One of the key aspects of having a successful mentor-mentee collaboration is also the ability to communicate the advice with simplicity so that the mentee can absorb it without any doubts. And in my opinion, Avan excelled at this, with the wealth of wisdom he already holds, it’s his ability to put that knowledge forward in a manner that I can absorb was the key to me in always turning to him for practical actionable advice. The scope of my questions has jumped from domain to domain - sometimes things that are little far off from Analytics, but still relevant in my professional journey, but he’s taken those on and given me a holistic picture in a manner that influences my thought process on building a meaningful career in the corporate world. Correct mentors at the right time can make even the most difficult decisions appear easy - And that’s what he did for me and also why I recommend anyone looking for practical actionable advice to consult with him.
