About me
During my time as SRE/Platform engineer across both of the product based organisations i have been in, I have been a part of the initial 3 founding members of the team, due to which i was fortunate to be a big part of migrating both organisations towards DevOps practices, Setting up the foundation of these practices gave me the ability of foreseeing scalability/maintainability of these decisions.
Post-design/ideation, I was also heavily involved in the end-to-end implementation and enforcement of these practices, in the process of which i have grown a lot in my scripting/troubleshooting skills, and execution of day-to-day DevOps tasks
While I am well versed in the standard DevOps Stack, i.e. Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Jenkins(CI/CD), Helm, etc. In each of these tools i have gone deep enough to explore and make use of advanced concepts such as Operators/CRDs/Mutating Webhooks in Kubernetes, Post-Install Hooks, Jenkins Shared Libraries, reusable go templates in Helm, Docker internals (which come handy in troubleshooting) like hypervisor and chroot and so on. This, i believe, distinguishes me from most candidates at this experience level and gives me a lot to add to the DevOps/SRE space at an organisation, including:
- Building scalable/maintainable GitOps stack, custom or managed, as appropriate, having used Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Custom pipelines, Shared Pipelines to achieve this previously
In-depth understanding of Kubernetes across different flavors like k3s, k8s, EKS or AKS, Proven experience of administering, designing, improving and troubleshooting in production kubernetes clusters
- Expertise in Observability/APM: A pillar for any product based company, In both of my previous organisations, I have created observability stacks from scratch, using different tools/protocols as suitable for the context of the product/company
- Security: Something that most organizations focus due to compliance or due to a knee-jerk reaction to an incident, I have and will continue to prioritise security practices like zero-trust in every single piece of code or artifact that i create and deploy, while trying to exhaust all possibility in which an external identity can exploit the organisation’s stack
If you are interested to discuss about an opportunity or even just a general discussion, Come say hi, Cheers!
