About me

A Psychologist by training, currently, working as a Faculty member and Director, Parul Institute of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, Parul University, Vadodara, India. I have more than 15 years of experience in the development sector and public health research. I am a recipient of various awards, fellowships and scholarships and a few of them are: Research Fellowship (JRF/SRF) from UGC (under Research Fellowship in Sciences for Meritorious Students-RFSMS), Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral and Professional Research Fellowship from United States-India Education Foundation (and visited Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University, New York, USA), Early Career Scholar Award, and Many Faces of Counselling Psychology Award. My interests broadly attempt to understand what are underlying psychological and sociocultural factors that influence the health behaviour of marginalized populations?; how does technology intersect with these factors and influences their behaviours and access to healthcare services?; how inequities in healthcare resources can be reduced and the access to healthcare services are improved? Currently, I am building my experience and skills around systematic reviews and meta-analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, the budget impact analysis of public health innovation or health technologies for equitable distribution of health resources. Ultimately, my work focuses on helping the people (marginalized people) lead healthy lives, and conduct policy-relevant studies to generate scientific evidence for policy-makers and attempt to reduce existing health inequities.
