What is the CIPP/E exam?

The CIPP/E is the IAPP's certification in European data protection law. Its Body of Knowledge v1.3.3 (effective 1 September 2025) has five domains: Introduction to European Data Protection; European Data Protection Law and Regulation; European Data Processing; Scope and Accountability; and Compliance. At the time of writing the exam has 90 questions (75 scored) in 150 minutes, with 300 on a 100–500 scale needed to pass. Confirm current details with the IAPP.
