About me

Hello, I'm Dr. Anukriti and I’m trained as a dentist and later transitioned into public health, navigating the shift from a clinical mindset to population-level thinking. I studied abroad and experienced first-hand both what helped me during this transition and what didn’t. This journey involved significant academic adjustments, identity shifts, and a constant negotiation between expectations and reality, especially when trying to understand how clinical backgrounds fit within public health spaces. A major part of this transition was adapting to a very different academic style. Public health education required critical reading and writing, independent learning, and collaborative group work, areas that were quite different from the structured, exam-oriented nature of clinical training. Through trial and error, I learned how to approach assignments more strategically, manage large volumes of reading, meet deadlines realistically, and balance academic demands without burning out. Alongside academics, I also navigated the emotional and practical challenges of studying abroad, including adjusting to new systems, cultures, and support structures. These experiences shaped my understanding of the non-academic aspects of international education that are often overlooked but deeply impact student well-being and performance. Through my 1-on-1 clarity sessions, I support students from both clinical backgrounds (dentistry, medicine, allied health) and non-clinical backgrounds who are considering studying abroad or transitioning into public health. My role is not to provide admissions, visa, or academic coaching, but to offer honest, experience-based peer guidance. These sessions are designed to help students pause, reflect, and make more informed decisions before taking significant academic or career steps.
