Q: What will actually happen in a session?
A: We’ll meet on video for 50 minutes. we’ll gently explore what matters to you and try small, practical steps you can take before our next session. My approach is solution-focused and patient — we keep things realistic and doable.
Q: I just want someone to listen — is that okay?
A: Absolutely. Feeling heard is often the first helpful step. If you want more than listening, we’ll add simple tools and small goals you can practice between sessions.
Q: How is this different from talking to a friend?
A: Friends care, but therapy is a confidential, structured space led by a trained practitioner. I use evidence-based methods (SFBT) to help you find what works for you — faster clarity, less overwhelm, and practical next steps.
Q: What kinds of issues do you help with?
A: Things like anxiety and worry, feeling lonely or stuck, low self-confidence, managing anger or difficult relationships, life transitions (work, studies, relationships), parenting worries, and stress that affects daily life.
Q: Do I need many sessions?
A: Some people feel better after a few sessions; others prefer ongoing support. We’ll check in after each session and plan what feels right for you.
Q: Will what I say be kept private?
A: Yes. Everything we talk about is confidential — with two important exceptions (see the short policy below). I’ll also explain confidentiality in our first session, so you know exactly what to expect.
Q: Are sessions evidence-based or just “chatting”?
A: I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and other practical, research-backed tools to help you build coping strategies and move toward goals. You’ll get tools that actually help.
Q: How do I book and pay?
A: Book through my TopMate link. Payment is completed securely through the platform when you book a slot.
Q: I’m nervous about starting — can I have a quick chat first?
A: Yes. I can offer a 10-minute intro call so you can ask questions and see if we’re a good fit.
