I've spent ~10 years in newsrooms. Indian and foreign newsrooms. Digital and legacy.
A large part of that life, was shielded from revenue pressure and the incumbency to make money.
Now I work in startups, the need to crack revenue is front and center, no shielding.
Via this, I have picked up a lot of insight from both worlds, on what newsrooms in India need to do, to:
1- get more relevant and how (and why this needed to have happened yesterday!)
2- open your audiences. ie, in marketing terms, open your "top of funnel"
3- retain your audience
4- monetize this. Gosh, we really need to crack this, don't we....
If you're a newsroom-leader in India and are thinking about this, this slot is to have a chat and see if there are problems and opportunities to solve here.
Post this conversation, we can explore doing structured workshops for your team around this as well.
** PS: My Topmate calendar is not linked to either my personal or work calendar, thus every slot looks free, but it isnt. So do ping me on DM/ LinkedIn to find a slot that works, before you book it here.
