I didn’t always know cybersecurity would be my path, but once I got into it, I knew I was where I belonged. From my early days managing vulnerabilities at Wipro, NTT, and HCLTech to my current journey as a grad student at the University of Calgary, I’ve found real fulfillment in tackling complex security challenges 🔐. Initially, I had my doubts. “Can I really make a difference in such a vast field?” I wondered. Balancing my studies with professional experience has been a challenge, but my passion for cybersecurity motivates me to push through. Now, I’m diving deeper into Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) as part of my master’s in Information Security and Privacy 📚. It’s fascinating to blend technical problem-solving with strategic risk management, all while working on projects that directly contribute to making systems safer 🔍. Throughout my career, I’ve become proficient with tools like Nmap, Qualys, Archer, and Burp Suite 🛠️. I’m always eager to learn more and stay adaptable in this fast-changing field. As a member of Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS), I’m attending events and webinars to network with professionals and broaden my knowledge. I recently collaborated with a team to create an enterprise security program. These experiences are enriching my understanding of compliance standards like ISO 27001 and SOC 2.
