I started my career as a trainee engineer at Tata Consulting Engineers Ltd via a program called Young Engineer Development Program (YEDP). 1st Project Here, I had the opportunity to work on an automation project with a dynamic team, automating a multi-disciplinary infrastructure that includes pipe and cable rack steel structures. I worked with tools like advanced Excel and SQL. The most challenging task was to streamline data between multiple disciplines, such as mechanical, electrical, and civil. The final automated product was able to take input on pipe and cable profiles to be laid and design the steel structure, including 3D figures. 2nd Major Project After completing my project and training, I was transferred to the TCE Head Office in Bengaluru on January 6, 2020. Here, I was assigned to a new project where I had to apply the knowledge gained from the previous project to create a web-based tool for designing RCC chimneys. This project helped me become a full-stack developer, working on both the backend for complex designs and mathematical formulations, including linear algebra. On the frontend, I designed a webpage that could take input in the form of text and CSV files, and I had to store and retrieve information and parameters based on the IS code. I had to learn and use MySQL for this project. 3rd Project My company believes in regularly training employees for both soft skills and advanced technical skill sets available in the market. We were continuously provided with different trainers to update our skills. The most impactful training for my career and interests was learning about machine learning, deep learning, and cloud computing, especially AWS. We learned to use data for better decision-making in the company.
