Throughout my career I've been a Microbiologist, an Immunologist, a Bioinformatician, a Data Scientist and now a Solutions Engineer. I possess 5+ years demonstrated proficiency in Python and R Programming, Data Analysis & Visualization, Research, Machine Learning and strategic Stakeholder Communication. In academia, I conducted research at R1 institutions, spoken at national conferences, published twice in highly reputed academic journals for Biophysics and Genomics, and mentored junior researchers. More recently, I've designed and deployed experiments impacting millions of consumers, productized and scaled ML solutions, and devised product strategy in tandem with R&D teams. Since transitioning to the private sector, I've been largely dissatisfied with the caliber of rigor - or lack thereof - employed when crafting data-backed solutions. I'm used to strenuous testing and validation from my academic days, and haven't yet been satisfied with the implementation of the scientific method in this space. That said, I'm charged with implementing that same rigor into building out my own solutions, and making Data Science accessible.
