I'm a qualitative researcher, fascinated by all things caught at the intersection of culture and economy. For my Masters dissertation (2016-17), I explored how social media influencers act as mediators of travel imaginaries through self commodification for economic returns via online marketing and how audiences subsequently engage in the consumption of marketed goods digitally. I am currently doing my doctoral dissertation in the Department of Cultural Studies in Tezpur University, Assam(2020-2025). My research brings together issues of gender, in connection to culture and economy as I explore the politics of public power and identity work among urban working women in 'non-agricultural pursuits' in Guwahati city, Assam.
