Ammar is a passionate software engineer and a backend enthusiast. Currently, he is working at Careem. He is part of the express squad, developing and maintaining APIs for the Careem Express Portal and external API partners. He developed features like Dynamic Delivery Radius and Live Captain Tracking. He has worked on engineering excellence initiatives like K8s Readiness and E2E Service Tracing. He led the development of the Careem Blog (blog.careem.com). Previously, he worked at Airlift Technologies as an Associate Software Engineer. He was part of the Supply Ops vertical, developing APIs for the Airlift Warehouse App and Express Admin Portal. He built the brains behind the ETA calculation engine, helping customers know exactly when their orders would arrive. He also took part in several performance optimization and product maintenance initiatives. He even saved some serious cash by fixing a major bug that was costing big bucks!
