Mekitmfon is an Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) Specialist with over 5 years of experience working with non-profit organizations and social enterprises across Africa. Mekitmfon takes a genuine interest in the development of children, young people (like himself), teams and organisations. He has a strong commitment to service and has engaged with intergovernmental organizations, local and international NGOs and private organizations, therefore, creating an influence that cuts across ICT, education, entrepreneurship, volunteerism, environmental health and sustainability, sexual and reproductive health. He currently serves as the Director of ICT on the board of Aid for Rural Education Access Initiative (AREAi) where he focuses on using technology and innovations to create and enhance access to learning for out-of-school children and empowerment opportunities for marginalized youths and vulnerable girls/women in hard-to-reach, disadvantaged and conflict-affected communities. He possesses an excellent capability in ICT, Projects and Operations Management with an ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment ensuring quality service delivery. He is an entrepreneur but spends most of his time volunteering around the world with a focus on promoting quality education, social cohesion, resilience and sustainable livelihood for people in underdeveloped/underserved communities. As a passionate traveller who loves to take pictures, meet people and experience new cultures.
