About me
I am a PhD student at Imperial College London, where I am working towards analysing and proposing new services needed for a stable and reliable electricity grid with very high penetrations of renewable energy resources. I am working in collaboration with the Global Power System Transformation (G-PST) consortium & and Electric Power Innovation for a Carbon-free Society Center(EPICS) on their research agenda.
I am also a Senior Market Development Analyst at National Grid ESO, working towards reforming National Grid ESO’s Ancillary Service Products, specifically Frequency Response. In this role, I am leading and supporting a well-evidenced policy position on Data Derived Baselines project to enable the participation of co-located plants in Frequency Response Markets.
Earlier, I was leading the design & development of the power market model for Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), forecasting prices, plant dispatch, and capacity decisions at Aurora Energy Research Ltd.
Previously, I was a Power Systems Developer in the Energy Market Management RnD team at Siemens, Bangalore. I worked on projects, developing software for Energy Market operators such as CAISO and AEMO. Within my organization, I conducted research in the areas of power system analysis and electricity markets.
Before that, at IIT Delhi, my research concentrated on developing a market-clearing framework for energy and ancillary service markets incorporating operational and physical characteristics of Battery Energy Storage Systems. I have received the POSOCO Power System Award for my thesis being among the top 10 in India.
Through academic projects and coursework, I have also gained experience in power system operation and control, power system analysis, power system protection, and machine learning.
