Amar is a dynamic leader with a go-getter attitude and over 12 years of corporate experience spanning the automobile, banking, proptech, political consulting, health-food, and edtech sectors. Known for his passion and high energy, Amar excels in building businesses from scratch, defining growth paths for organisations, and driving new initiatives leveraging digital strategy. Amar currently heads Growth & Marketing for upGrad Abroad, the study abroad vertical of South Asia’s largest Edtech Unicorn, upGrad. As a founding member of upGrad Abroad, Amar leads a dynamic team of 25 members, dedicated to making overseas education accessible and affordable. In a short span of 3 years, Amar is responsible for driving lead generation through both paid and organic channels, enhancing brand visibility, driving product growth, managing social media marketing, and conducting offline events, all while ensuring a seamless customer experience. Amar began his career with leading corporates like Tata Technologies and ICICI Bank before transitioning to the startup ecosystem. He has played a pivotal role in multiple acquisitions, including at Housing.com, India’s leading digital real estate platform (acquired by REA Group), where he launched the PG & Co-Living and Property Services segments, sourcing 25,000 PGs. Before joining Housing.com, Amar was a founding member of Fastfox.com, an O2O rental solutions platform acquired by Housing.com for ₹100 crore. During his 4.5 years at Fastfox.com, Amar became the go-to person for problem-solving, excelling in various roles including operations, field sales, digital marketing, and growth hacking. He played a pivotal role in developing and implementing new initiatives. One of his key achievements was launching the real estate brokers app, Broex, and successfully acquiring 150,000 brokers on the platform within just six months. Amar also had a brief stint in Political Consulting during the 2019 General Elections. He completed his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from NIT Surat and holds a Master's Degree in Marketing. Amar was recognized as one of the Top 100 Marketing Leaders in India in 2024 and received the Top 100 CX Leaders award at the World CX Summit in 2023. In 2020, he was honoured with the 'Indian Achievers Award for Strategic Excellence' by the Indian Achievers Forum. That same year, Amar published his first book on Growth Hacking, which has sold over 500 copies on Amazon. He is frequently invited to speak at top B-schools and national and international forums, sharing his expertise in growth & strategy.
