With over 15 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, machine learning, and data platforms, I have built a strong foundation across diverse domains. After earning my bachelor's degree from Mumbai University, I moved to the US, where I completed my MS and gained extensive industry experience, bringing a global perspective and deep technical expertise to my work. Currently, I serve as a Senior Engineering Manager for a data platform team, overseeing three sub-teams responsible for managing services for Trino, Druid, Pinot, and BigQuery. My team handles over a million queries daily and manages petabytes of data. My role involves customer onboarding, providing consultations, feature development, and ongoing production support. Previously, I was a founding member of PepsiCo's data engineering and analytics team, where I played a key role in scaling the team and crafting a data strategy aligned with the company's goals. I successfully implemented and maintained data pipelines, lakes, and warehouses, leveraging technologies such as Airflow, Python, Snowflake, Tableau, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes. I also led the development and deployment of advanced analytics and machine learning models, driving innovation and solving complex business challenges. Before PepsiCo, I worked as a Lead Engineer at Dell SecureWorks, where I developed a product to enhance performance and process billions of logs for threat detection. I utilized Java, Spring Boot, Impala, Machine Learning, AWS, and distributed systems like Spark and Kafka. Highlights of my tenure include pioneering Web UI features using Scala, JSP, jQuery, and REST, achieving a 200% improvement in product performance, and enhancing threat detection by 30%. I also spearheaded a data replication initiative to strengthen disaster recovery capabilities.
