Examples : Collaborated, Managed, Leveraged, Incorporated, Participated, Resolved, Developed, Constructed, Designed, Inspected, Engineered

Start your sentences with buzz words or Action words.

Example: Managed a 5-member cross-functional (product, engineering, sales, support) team and coordinated with six business partners toward the successful launch of an e-commerce platform.

Always Quantify your work (in numbers)

Never ever forget to add the numbers in your resume. Recruiters want to understand how efficient and productive you were with the help of numbers. In the below example, note that Good Quantification proves that you were able to lead your architecture team to make improvements that resulting in increase of speed by 20%.

Bad Quantification : Collaborated with a team to enhance architecture as part of process imrpovements

Good Quantification : Led re-architecture of key platform that servers 100,000 requests per month, increasing speed by 20 percent.

Remove Unncessary sections

Unless your extra-curricular activites include attending hackathons, working on side projects, do not add it. Modern resumes do not need extra-curricular activity section if it mentions dancing, singing, trekking, painting etc. Since these are not targeted for your job profile, ATS scanners can filter them out in the screening. Also, keep in mind to not have waste spaces between different sections.

Profile Summary

It is a good practice to add a profile summary on top of your resume. Since recruiters only have few seconds to go through your resume, they can directly read the profile summary.

Work Experience

Your work experience should be in reverse chronological order. This means that your latest work experience should be on top, followed by your previous years of experience in descending order of dates.
