Product Management has become one of the most sought-after career paths for students today. But if you're a student exploring PM, there's a good chance you've already encountered the same advice everywhere:
- Learn a few PM frameworks
- Solve hundreds of product cases
- Build a generic PM deck
- Get a PM internship
- Put “product thinking” on your resume
- Prepare for interviews
But there’s a fundamental problem with this approach:
You can't prepare for a PM interview without actually understanding what Product Management is.
As students, it is difficult to know what the real job looks like because we haven't yet experienced the realities of building, launching, measuring, and iterating products. Most of the resources available online are also either fragmented, overly focused on interviews, or built around approaches that are becoming increasingly outdated with the rise of AI and AI-native product management.
So, I’m starting a 2-session live course for college students focused on helping you understand Product Management from the ground up - and then use that understanding to actually break into the field.
This course is my attempt to go beyond interview preparation and help students understand what it actually means to be a Product Manager.
What makes this different from conventional PM prep?
The goal isn't to teach you another set of frameworks to memorise. Instead, we will focus on:
- What Product Management actually is
- How real PMs think about and build products
- How to develop genuine product thinking
- How to evaluate whether PM is actually the right career for you beyond salary and job hype
- How PMs make decisions with incomplete information and competing constraints
- How to use real-world products to understand PM concepts
- What has changed in PM hiring because of AI
- What exactly AI Product Management means and how it differs from conventional PMing
- How to prepare for PM interviews without becoming dependent on memorised frameworks
- How interviewers actually evaluate candidates
- How to build a strong profile and improve your chances of getting shortlisted
The objective is simple: Understand PM first. Prepare for the interview second.
Because once you understand what you're actually trying to demonstrate, interview preparation becomes much more meaningful.
What will the 2 sessions cover?
