About me
I was born in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico. Despite coming from an underprivileged background and growing up without many resources, I persevered, and, as a first-generation college student, graduated in the top 1% of my class with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration.
Fast forward, and I am now a global supply chain and operations senior leader with 25+ years of relevant experience in Global Transportation, Logistics, Warehousing, Distribution, P&L, Inventory Management, Production and Supply Planning, Detailed Scheduling, Project Management, Analytics, Data Governance, Customer Service, and multiple Operations Systems Implementations across the Pharmaceutical, CPG, Medical Devices, Automotive & Electronics sectors.
In 2007, due to escalating violence in my hometown, I immigrated to Canada with my young family. With no friends or family to support our integration into the Canadian culture, I had to find my own way while helping my family adapt and thrive. Despite having to take a step back in my career, I successfully integrated myself into the Canadian work environment, and after being promoted multiple times, I now work for a generics pharmaceutical manufacturer located in Toronto, Canada, as a Senior Director, Global Supply Chain Logistics, leading a diverse team of over 150 supply professionals in Canada and the U.S.
Despite my hectic schedule, I have carved out 500+ hours of my time over the last few years to volunteer as a mentor, keynote speaker, and panelist for many Universities, Associations, and Immigrant Settlement Organizations. In 2019, I was selected by Supply Chain Canada as part of their first-ever Top 100 Most Influential Women in Canadian Supply Chain. I was the winner of the 2020 Woman of Inspiration Awards issued by the Universal Womens Network (UWN) under the category of Authentic Leader, and in 2021, I was named to the Top 100 Women in Supply Chain globally by IBM.
In 2022, I became the first female content creator and instructor for LinkedIn Learning’s Spanish Library in Global Logistics. In 2023, I was recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential Women in Supply Chain by B2G Consulting, and was one of the recipients of the 2023 Women in Supply Chain Award by the Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine.
I am fully bilingual (English / Spanish). I currently reside in Toronto, Ontario, with my husband of over 26 years, and our three children (ages 16, 18, and 24).
I believe I can give you an edge during the interview process, as I have been a people leader and hiring manager in Canada for many years. Work with me to understand how you can land on your feet in Canada, learn how to integrate into the Canadian workplace, network effectively, advocate for yourself, and own your voice.
Feel free to reach out if I can support you in any way possible. Looking forward to hearing from you!
