Hi, I'm Akshita. I graduated with a BCom from Delhi University in 2019 with absolutely no idea what I wanted to do. I spent some time teaching French online and then COVID happened, which, honestly, gave me the push to figure things out. In 2021, I took my first job at an edtech startup just to get my foot in the door. I quickly realised it wasn't for me, so I made the switch to marketing, enrolled in a digital marketing course, started applying and got rejected a lot because I didn't have the "right" experience yet. But I kept going. I prepared a full social analytics report for my first interview at Blue Tokai, my dream company at the time and somehow, I got the job. The corporate world wasn't easy on a newbie, but I learned more in that first year than I had in all of college. When things started feeling repetitive and my manager left, I stepped up, took ownership, and realised I wanted more growth, more challenge, more responsibility. That led me to Veeba, where I went through the same process, brand analysis, gave it everything, got in. The environment was different, more structured, better work-life balance and exposure to a side of marketing I hadn't seen before. Today I work in brand strategy, helping brands figure out not just what to post, but what they actually stand for. I also run The Social Network, a community I built for marketing professionals who are figuring out their path, just like I once was.
