Fresh out of college in 2019, I was curious to find my Ikigai - The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life. Ikigai talks about four main parts: 1. What you love 2. What you're good at 3. What the world needs 4. What you can be paid for Out of all the options, what stood at the centre was writing. 1. I love writing (from blogs, landing pages, ads, social posts, micro stories, handwritten letters and whatnot) 2. I'm good at writing (at least that's what my dad, my friends, my first boss, my last manager and a few strangers said) 3. The world needs writers (hope you know that well) 4. I'm paid for writing (I have 4+ years of work experience in B2C, B2B & SaaS combined) Writing opened up opportunities for me in SEO and Content Marketing, as content was an integral part of both verticals. I consider SEO a game with Google and Content Marketing an art of selling without pushing. I enjoy doing both.
