I am Aditi Agarwal (she/her), a counselling psychologist who brings a trauma-sensitive approach to her therapy sessions.
Therapy approach: My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, curious, and trauma-sensitive. My main approach to working with trauma truly lies in doing Parts Work using the Internal Family Systems (IFS) lens. I incorporate attachment theory, nervous system regulation, mindfulness, self-compassion and somatic modalities like breathwork to bridge the mind-body connection into my practice.
I work with adults as well as young adults in individual therapy in the age range of 18-40 years residing in India as well as Internationally.
People who are experiencing concerns related to symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, imposter syndrome, body image issues, relationship conflicts, intimacy/sexual issues, family conflicts, self-esteem issues, difficulty navigating complex trauma, generational trauma, emotional neglect, attachment trauma and abuse can avail support here.
If you feel like you are going through something similar, I am so glad that you have landed on this page. I assure you that every confusion, apprehension and concern of your mental health need will be tended to, to the best of my ability in our psychotherapeutic alliance and sessions.
How the first session would look like:
The first session is a standard one, which lasts for 1 hour 15 mins. We'll cover a few things to make you comfortable with the therapy process such as the consent form(to protect your rights to receiving therapy), understanding your chief concerns, sharing my approach to managing and addressing your concerns, and a tentative timeline for support and intervention. We will decide on the frequency of the sessions and that's it, we begin with the therapy right after it.
The following sessions after it would be 1 hour long. Please schedule appointments a day in advance so that I can manage my schedule effectively. If you need to cancel or reschedule (which is absolutely okay), provide a 24-hour notice, and we'll find another suitable time for your appointment.
Recommended: To be booked once or twice a week, for new clients for the best results :))
