Abinav Sridharan is a highly accomplished musician with a post-graduate degree in Ethnomusicology from King's College, London, and recipient of the UK Alumni Award for Culture and Creativity from the British Council. With a B.A. Hons. in Music Performance from Middlesex University, London, and training under renowned musicians Mark Oldfield and Dr. Gilles Denizot, Abinav has over 12 years of experience teaching Western and Hindustani Classical Vocal Performance. As a member of the eighth generation of Rampur Sahaswan Gharana and a former teacher at KM Music Conservatory, Abinav has performed in operas and classical music concerts, including the opera ‘Si J’etai Roi’ and as a member of KM Chamber Choir, which toured India and Germany. He has also appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show and the BBC Network, London, and conducted fundraising performances for various organizations such as the WaterAid Foundation, Magdala Opera Company, and Kathmandu Earthquake Relief. With recognition from Middlesex University and awards including the ‘Best Hindustani Music Performer’ and ‘Best Student Performer,’ Abinav is dedicated to promoting new talent and making Western Classical Opera more accessible to the Indian audience through his venture, Opera India.
