About me
I'm a Principal Software Engineer at Atlassian with around ten years of experience. Before this I was a Tech Lead at Meta in London, and prior to that a Tech Lead at LinkedIn. I've also worked at BankBazaar and Directi, and graduated from VNIT in 2016.
Having gone through interviews at several leading tech companies including Uber, Facebook, Booking, Google, InMobi, Flipkart, Swiggy, Microsoft and Agoda, I understand how demanding these processes can feel. I work with everyone from new grads to senior engineers, and my aim is to support candidates with practical guidance, honest feedback, and a structured approach so they can prepare with more confidence and less guesswork.
**How I work with mentees**
Mentorship works best when we agree on the target upfront and track progress against it. In our first session we'll define what success looks like for you, and every session after that is measured against that goal.
1. Interview readiness : Pick a target company and level, then work backwards. We agree on a date, map the gaps across DSA, system design, and behavioural rounds, and close them one at a time.
2. System design depth : Move from memorised templates to reasoning from first principles. Target: walk into a senior or staff-level design round and drive the conversation yourself.
3. Promotion and level-up: Build the evidence for your next level. We set a concrete scope target for the next two quarters and review what you're actually shipping against it.
4. Career direction: For anyone weighing IC vs management, or a switch across companies or geographies. We define what you're optimising for, then pressure-test the options against it.
5. Honest calibration — After mocks, you get a clear read on where you stand versus the bar, not encouragement. If you're not ready, I'll say so and we'll set a realistic date.
**A note on independence**
I mentor in a personal capacity. This is not an Atlassian offering, I don't speak for Atlassian here, and all views are my own.
To keep that clean, a few things I don't do:
=> I don't take on mentees who are interviewing at Atlassian or who currently work there.
=> I don't share confidential or internal material from Atlassian or any previous employer, i.e., interview questions, rubrics, scoring guides, or hiring process details.
=> I can't provide referrals, pass candidate names to recruiters, or influence any hiring decision at Atlassian or anywhere else.
=> Everything I coach on comes from publicly available information and general industry practice.
