About me
At the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Abhishek develops intelligence, leads field operations, conducts interrogations, files chargesheets, and makes arrests during investigations. He also represents DRI in judicial forums like High Courts. His responsibilities include uncovering policy misuse, leading anti-smuggling and narcotics operations, addressing unfair competition, and analyzing financial crime alerts with international ramifications. During his term, he was involved in investigation of 20 customs fraud cases, detecting $61 million and recovering $35 million, reflecting his commitment to upholding integrity and justice in international trade.
In addition to his civil service duties, Abhishek has continued to refine his non-profit organization, Khwaahish, leading a team of over 30, including 15 full-time employees. He developed processes that resulted in participation of 500 volunteers, including MBA students from IIM and NMIMS. Since 2016, Khwaahish has raised $1 million, sponsoring the education of 200 children, providing medical and nutritional aid for 550 individuals, and offering vocational training for 200 women and children. With accreditations such as 12(A), 80(G), FCRA, and NITI Aayog, Khwaahish has set a benchmark in the social sector. Over 3,000 animals have received medical aid, 200 were adopted, and 10,000 meals were provided to strays during COVID-19. Khwaahish operates a 24/7 veterinary ambulance and is now building a multi-specialty veterinary hospital to treat both strays and pets.
