This training course will help you master the advanced concepts and applications of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) based on the ASME Y14.5-2018 standard.   2. Datums: Revisit the concept of datums and how they define the coordinate system for part inspection. Learn how to use different types of datum features, such as patterns, targets, and irregular shapes. Understand the effects of datum translation and movable targets on tolerance zones.
  3. Functional Gaging: Learn how to design and use functional gages to verify the fit and function of parts. Understand the concepts of max material boundary, simultaneous requirements, and position gaging. Apply functional gaging to fixed and floating fastener applications.
  4. Composite Tolerances: Learn how to use composite tolerances to control multiple features with different datum references and tolerance zones. Understand the difference between multiple single segment and composite profile tolerances. Apply composite tolerances to control the location, orientation, and form of features.
  5. Envelope and Boundary Tolerances: Learn how to use envelope and boundary tolerances to control the size and form of features. Understand the concepts of virtual condition, resultant condition, and tolerance impact. Perform tolerance calculations for features with form and orientation variations.
  6. Advanced Symbols and Concepts: Learn how to use advanced symbols and concepts to communicate complex design requirements. Understand the meaning and application of tangent plane, statistical tolerancing, restrained and free state, and non-uniform profile symbols.
  7. Final Exam: Test your knowledge and skills on advanced GD and T topics and applications. Solve practical problems and interpret GD and T drawings.
