I have written more cold emails than I can track or count. I have made more mistakes than I ever imagined. I have searched and made Excel sheets about labs across the globe. I secured an RAship at the Culture, Health and Emotions Lab of Pennsylvania State University after months of persistence. This RAship experience later helped me get into LSE & Oxford for Masters, got a 100% scholarship from Harvard for a prestigious project, a corporate role at Starbucks, amongst others.

Trust me when I say this. You can do it in lesser amount of time. If you just know where to find labs. If you just know how to make yourself visible and suitable for an RAship.
