About me

I am a Data Scientist having 5 years of professional experience in solving industry level problems using computer vision. I have strong experience in different Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms to solve object detection, classification and segmentation based problems. My published papers (80+ citations) : https://scholar.google.co.in/citations?user=MjMDMG8AAAAJ&hl=en Some of my achievements include: a) Developed an object detection based layout analysis framework for table extraction from images using RetinaNet/YoloV5 (Mean Avg Precision .93). b) Developed a text recognition engine based on custom-trained Calamari-OCR for accurate extraction of scanned financial documents. c) Developed a roomtype classifier for detecting roomtype and condition of a room for house valuation estimation. d) Developed a system for matching of real estate images with google-street-view counterpart using a siamese network based on VGG-16, Transnet and NetVLAD. (In production) e) Developed an ensemble of Retinanet and FRCNN based system for detection and localisation of small scale ground deformation from satellite data. (Mean Average Precision .76) f) Fundus disease detection: A attention-based CNN for determining multiple diseases from fundus images to be used in disease screening in hospitals. (Accuracy 95 %) g) Form.ai: Developed a object detection based method for automated and realtime extraction of sections and subsections of a form/pdf/document, followed by forming a hierarchical relationship between the sections. h) Developed a k-means clustering based approach for characterization of rock faces using digital images. i) Developed a DIP based sieving system for MLR based prediction of mass-wise coarse particle size distribution (published in IJMST). j) Developed a 3D laser-scanning based semi-automated system for real-time detection and classification of surface defect in friction stir welding process (Patent filed). k) Developed a photogrammetry based framework for photo-realistic 3D reconstruction of large-scale environments using digital images. l) Performance assessment of different surface reconstruction algorithms in generating 3D mesh of objects having irregular geometry (published in SpringerPlus). I'm a graduate from IIT Kharagpur, having completed my M.Tech + B.Tech dual degree in 2014 (CGPA of 7.8) and picked up useful skills like Image Processing, Machine Learning, Programming, Statistics etc.
