"The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now." Hi. I am Abhijay Giri, residing in the vibrant city of Bangalore. That quote above has defined my life in the last few years and helped me come out of some of my lowest phases, and even procrastination. I have a strong liking for sales, client relationship building, strategy, strategic deal management, physics, running, and memes. I strive for excellence in all I do and topmate.io is just one more in that long list. I currently work as an Analyst at Accenture Strategy, India Market Unit advising and managing clients in the GCC (Global Capability Center) space. My journey has been shaped by long-distance running, exceptional institutions where I have had the honor of studying, and diverse experiences that have molded me into who I am. I graduated from SPJIMR Mumbai in 2022 with a degree in Marketing (major) and Finance (minor). I was a part of the Placement Committee and was the Head of the Placement Committee for the Marketing specialization. I was also the National Winner of P&G CEO Challenge 2021, part of Novartis BioCamp 2021 cohort, and among the Top 10 College Champions in Unstop Awards 2021. I was also recognized as one of the Top 50 Most Employable MBA Graduates of 2022 by InsideIIM.com. Prior to my MBA, I worked as a Manager - Regional Sales at Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), where I handled sales of a 250Cr+ annual portfolio of clients in Maharashtra. This role was in the B2B products area in the petrochemicals space. My academic journey commenced at BITS Pilani Goa, where I pursued my undergraduate studies in Chemical Engineering. This is the place where I realised that I want to change the world someday. I co-founded a mentorship initiative called Technology Incubator Programme (TIP) - BITS Goa which mentored 2000+ students in multiple disciplines and helped them build skills outside the classroom in a more practical sense. Beyond my professional pursuits, I am an ardent long-distance runner. This passion reflects my discipline, perseverance, and ability to push boundaries both mentally and physically. It is a testament to my approach to life and work—I am always striving for excellence and surpassing expectations. My idea of mentorship comes from my own story where I believe I did not find mentorship in a lot of areas and had to find my own way out. While that journey is rewarding in it's own way, I would love to help accelerate the process for others.
