This is my third call with Yash and I know it would not be the last! Each call gives me so many valuable insights and I can actually see rapid improvements in my performance when applying them. I am really grateful for Topmate for providing such a platform, and for Yash being here.

Yash gave me a lot of perspective on how to proceed forward to build my career in Public Policy, but more importantly he told me how not to proceed and I found that very helpful. The call was most certainly worth it.

I loved how realistic he was with the realities of the public policy job market and also did not set any unrealistic expectation. He was very empathetic towards me and actually helped me shift my perspective towards my career

About me

Yash is a public policy professional and social entrepreneur with over eight years of experience across internet governance, technology policy, stakeholder engagement, public affairs, and development consulting. He is driven by a belief in the transformative power of sound policy, and by a mission to bring structure and accessibility to India's public policy ecosystem. At ICANN, Yash serves as Manager, Global Stakeholder Engagement for South Asia, acting as the organisation's primary interface with government ministries, civil society, media, and community and technical stakeholders across the region. His work spans programme management, government outreach, ecosystem engagement, and coordinating ICANN's regional partnerships. Alongside ICANN, Yash founded Public Policy India (PPI) and STRIDE - together the first, largest and most dynamic pan-India community platforms for the public policy and social impact ecosystem, with 150,000+ members across 25 of India's biggest cities. Now in its seventh year, PPI drives community engagement, careers, and content, while STRIDE, its sister think tank, leads research, training, and institutional capacity building, with a shared mission to grow India's policy ecosystem and help young Indians build meaningful careers. He is also a practitioner-educator, serving as adjunct, guest, or visiting faculty at 35+ universities and institutions across the country, including IIT Bombay, IIT Chennai, IIM Sirmaur, St. Xavier's Mumbai, TISS, Ashoka University, KREA University, Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi University, and Jindal Global University, among others. He also serves on boards of studies, advising on curriculum design and pedagogy. Prior to ICANN, Yash spent two years at Twitter India and South Asia in a policy and partnerships role. Before that, he was a Government and Public Affairs Consultant at Chase Advisors, a New Delhi-based public policy consulting firm. He began his career as a LAMP Fellow to a four-term State Cabinet Minister of Assam and current Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha). He has also worked with the Government of India, NIAS, Pratham, Teach For India, and BJP National Vice President Baijayant 'Jay' Panda, among others. Outside of work, Yash reads widely, plays tennis, travels, and explores the many unique experiences New Delhi has to offer.
