About me

“In all chaos there is a cosmos, in all disorder a secret order.” —Carl Jung Qualifications: Ph.D. Psychology from IIT Hyderabad (pursuing), M.A. in Psychosocial Clinical Studies from Ambedkar University Delhi (8.74 CGPA), Diploma in Community Mental Health from NIMHANS with 87.4%, UGC NET-JRF qualified with 99.78 percentile. He holds 5 years of experience in counseling. Additionally, he was an Adjunct Faculty of Psychology at Ambedkar University and a Junior Project Fellow at National Council of Educational Research & Training (NCERT), New Delhi. His approach to counseling is based on an eclectic approach bridging psychodynamic, existential, and humanistic perspectives. He is a Doctoral Candidate in Psychology at the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, where his research focuses on ritual practices and processional worship/journeys of Devī-Devtās (Hindu deities) in India’s Garhwal Himalayas. His research interests focus on cultural psychology, the link between Jung and India, music psychology, psychological perspectives from India, and the correspondence between spirituality, psychopathology, and analytical psychology. He is the winner of the Division 39 Scholars Award 2025 from the American Psychological Association, George Greenia Fellowship 2025 from William & Mary (USA), Social Justice Task Force Research Grant 2024 from the American Psychological Association (APA), Emerging Scholar Award 2023 and 2024 from the Religion in Society Research Network, USA, APS Student Grant 2023 from the Association for Psychological Science (APS, USA), the Student Diversity Award 2023 from the Division 29 of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Excellence in Research Award 2024 and 2022 by IIT Hyderabad, the Stephen Mitchell Award given by APA (Division 39), the Psychoanalytic Research Exceptional Contribution Award by IPA London, the Student Research Award from APA (Division 36), and the Asian Student Membership Scholarship from the Association for Nepal and Himalayan Studies (ANHS), USA. Currently, he is the Student Development Committee Member of the Psychotherapy Division (Division 29) of the American Psychological Association (APA), International Relations Committee (IRC) member of Division 39 of APA, and Book Review Editor of the Journal of Dharma Studies (Springer).
