Psychologist trained at TISS, Mumbai, with over 6 years of diverse experience. My journey began as a sexuality educator, further leading to a specialization in queer affirmative therapy. Over the past 4 years, I have built my private practice and sharpened my business acumen along the way. My work intertwines psychology and sociology, and is firmly rooted in social justice and intersectionality. Here to guide fellow therapists in private practice on the business end of things, offer expertise to people building digital mental health products or services and offer specialized case consultations for working with queer and trans* clients. 1) Private Practice Mentorship Guidance session for trainees and therapists embarking on or already navigating the realms of private practice. With a combination of lived experiences, academic knowledge, and professional training, I bring a unique perspective to this work. These consultations offer nuanced insights into case-specific challenges, cultural sensitivity and the socio-political dynamics impacting queer individuals. My knowledge about marketing, finance and processes is a collation of extensive research I have been doing on the same in my reading and interactions with other therapists. - I have curated and delivered two successful runs of a beginner level workshop on the business side considerations for therapists starting & running a private practice. A huge chunk of my work has involved therapy sessions with queer people and have provided extensive training on gender & sexuality in diverse contexts. - My research work at the Bachelors and Masters level was focused on the experiences of queer and trans* individuals with mental health professionals and helped me develop valuable insights on the requirements of the community. - I’ve published some articles in this area titled “Cultivating Healthy Queer Intimate Relationships” , “The False Binary of Nature and Nurture: Shifting Narratives in the Queer Galaxy” and “What Would you Wear if Clothing wasn’t Divided by Gender”.
