About me
Coming from a humble middle-class background, I was one of the first females in my family to have had the opportunity to pursue my post-graduate degree "abroad". Surviving as an international student, in one expensive city is a herculean task, let alone wading through social life in three different and expensive countries! I remember living within meager means to help sustain the 'pocket money' my dad sent me every month for my expenses. To ease things, my roommate introduced me to "Groupon," a coupon marketplace that lets you redeem lucrative deals and discounts across multiple merchants. I was thrilled when I was finally able to afford winter wear at a 45% discount through Groupon !!! This piqued my interest into the world of deals, discounts, and coupons!
Right after graduating with honors from my MBA program, I joined PayPal as a product manager in the global fraud risk team. Coincidentally, two years later, I was asked to take a lead as a disputes product manager on the project where PayPal had acquired Honey (an aggregator that applies online discounts to your regular purchases when added as a browser extension). The $4B deal saw the unification and integration of Honey with existing PayPal products. I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to work on the platform that bolstered the cashback program where customers earned rewards via merchant offers, deals, and discounts which could all be redeemed instantly during PayPal checkout.
I was a core member of the team that designed the engine that triggered auto-compilation of all reward points across multiple products like cards, native app, and web checkout for a wholesome and seamless consumer experience. The icing on the cake was when I helped consumers save $200M through Honey-enabled cashback and discounts! But I knew the market focus was skewed, the spotlight was on quantitative demand rather than on qualitative supply.
I knew I needed to address this gap and there was my calling! That's when I decided to step out of my comfort zone, quit my day job at PayPal, and co-found "Pauket," a tech startup that helps hyper-local merchants have a digital footprint and share their promotional campaigns via contactless methods to help consumers get the best deals and offers via the consumer app. Pauket is a SaaS platform that helps sellers digitize, distribute and track their promotions thereby helping them boost their marketing ROI by 4X.
If you want to know more about how Pauket is determined to revolutionize and reimagine the landscape of social spending, let's talk!
