Bank of Montreal:
- Led data migration from HDP to CDP, ensuring compatibility with updated platform features.
- Used PySpark and Hive queries to extract metadata and table structure, saving schema info to CSVs.
- Performed distributed copy (DistCp) for moving data to the destination environment.
- Reconstructed Hive schemas and tables on the CDP cluster before migrating the actual data.
- Addressed ACID table compatibility issues by redesigning data models to external (non-transactional) tables where internal Hive ACID support was lacking.
