About me

Hey there, Snehil here. I have close to 6 years of combined experience in research and development in Computer Vision and NLP. Academia and Research: 👨🏻‍🎓🖊️I hold a Bachelor's from NIT Raipur in ECE, and a Master's from DIAT Pune in Robotics. 👨🏻‍💻✈️I also worked as a project intern during my final year for Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, DRDO India (Defense labs under Government of India). 👨🏻‍🎓🖊️I was a research scholar at IIT Guwahati for 4 years (2019-2023). During my PhD, I also participated in the prestigious Dare to Dream challenge hosted by DRDO and won in 2nd place in the startup category. Work Experience: 👨🏻‍💻🛠️I switched to industry roles and open source development after January 2023. I have worked in the domain of self driving cars and AI for a Japanese Startup (PomNet), and as an Associate Data Scientist in the domain of large language models for custom company usecases (Ascendeum Pvt. Ltd.). 👨🏻‍💻⚒️I also have experience participating in open source projects, hackathons and defense challenges. Mentee experience: 🥼🎇Recently I graduated from OpenMined's Mentorship Program, OpenMined works on Privacy Preserving AI and Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs for short). I am also currently involved in Kaggle's BIPOC Mentorship as a mentee till November 2023, this program aims to improve representation for BIPOC in data science and AI.
