Saniya Malhotra
Landscape Ecology Architect at Harvard GSD
Saniya Malhotra is an architect, permaculture designer, and landscape architect in training at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. She is a Living Future Accredited (LFA) Professional, a 2025 K.C. Mahindra Fellow, recipient of the 2026 Radcliffe Engaged Student Grant, and a member of the Harvard Climate Leaders Cohort ‘25.
Saniya led the ecological design of India's first residential food forest for 1000 Island Hotels and Resorts in the Gir Forest, Gujarat, set to open in 2027. The project was selected for exhibition at the Harvard Kirkland Art Gallery in October 2025. She has led research and curriculum development for the International Centre of Permaculture Education for over four years and collaborated on research projects with CEPT University and NIFT Gandhinagar. Her work has been featured by UNDP, The Hindu, the U.S. Embassy India, and Women of the Wild India. She has also delivered lectures and workshops at more than 12 institutions, including IIT Delhi and TERI School of Advanced Studies.
