About me

Hi there! I’m Prerna, a neurodivergent academic, queer feminist, and former migrant activist committed to helping others navigate the intersections of academic life and personal growth with care, compassion, and intentionality. I’m not a life coach or a personal coach—I’m the fellow neurodivergent peer I wish I had during my own journey. Drawing from my experiences as an ADHD academic, a migrant navigating inequitable systems, and a fan-creator inspired by BTS’s life-affirming lyrics, I provide grounded, equitable support to help you thrive in academia and beyond. What I Offer 1. Academic and Life Navigation Coaching I’m here to help you map your journey in academia and life, not as separate realms but as deeply interconnected experiences. Whether you’re transitioning to a new country, starting a new program, or figuring out how to align your goals with your values, I offer practical, empathetic guidance tailored to your unique needs. - Real-world advice rooted in lived experience. - Support that centers equity, addressing systemic barriers while helping you find sustainable ways to navigate them. - A space to embrace rest, progress, and purpose—without the hustle. 2. Tools and Resources Inspired by BTS’s affirming lyrics and my own ADHD experiences, I’ve created *ParADHDise: BTS-Inspired Affirming Tools* to help you bring ease and joy into your everyday life. These tools are thoughtful, reflective, and designed to celebrate progress while honoring your need for rest. - Lightstick trackers, mood seesaws, feedback sifters, and more! - Anti-hustle, self-compassionate resources to support your growth. - Funny memes and affirming content to brighten your day! Why I want to be your Peer? - Lived Experience and Equity-Driven Practice: I’ve experienced the inequities of academia and migrant life firsthand. My approach is rooted in equitable assistance, ensuring that my support is accessible and thoughtful, recognizing systemic barriers and working to address them. - Not About Profit, But About Worth: I deeply believe in labor being valued and paid, a lesson I learned through navigating unpaid labor as a migrant activist. This isn’t just about money—it’s about sustaining the care and effort I bring to my work. - Peer, Not Coach: I’m not here to preach or fix—I’m here as a fellow traveler on this path, offering the kind of support I needed when I felt lost, overwhelmed, or unseen as a neurodivergent, queer fat woman and on top of all that, an academic. This work is about more than academic success—it’s about creating a life that feels whole, joyful, and authentically yours. Let’s navigate it together! P.S. When I was in Canada, I was an equity officer for Public Service Alliance of Canada and hold a BC Peer Support Worker Certificate, a first-of-its-kind credential approved in British Columbia that focuses on equipping peer support workers with practical skills, standards of practice, and tools to create meaningful connections. The curriculum is built entirely on the lived and living experiences of peers, emphasizing equity, trust, and hope-inducing strategies. The training covered 16 interactive modules, including harm reduction, Indigenous approaches to peer work, and creating equitable access to care. This certification reflects my commitment to practicing informed, compassionate, and equitable support—ensuring every individual feels seen, valued, and empowered in their journey.
