Catalyst Session #2 - Discovering your artist DNA
profile

Catalyst sessions are Neon Culture's series of workshops designed for artists, their teams and other music industry professionals to gain valuable information on trends and upskill their music business knowledge. Through these workshops, attendees will gain the practical knowledge. tools, awareness and networks to understand how the music business functions and leverage them to set their long-term careers up for success.

Catalyst session #2 is called “Discovering your artist DNA”. During this session, we take artists and music business professionals through a series of excercises aimed at understanding and creating a strong visual and digital identity, and share a host of tools to make sure that identity is represented across all channels. We break down how to analyse your artist/creator DNA, identify your strengths and weaknesses and take you through a checklist of digital and physical identity markers that will work in tandem towards this goal - all with examples of some of the most interesting creatives successfully applying this to their careers.

This workshop will be facilitated by Prarthana Sen who is the MD of Operations and a cofounder at Neon Culture. Prarthana is an operations and community development specialist who has a decade of experience across various sectors of the music business, and a global music network. After graduating with an MA in Music and Management in 2015 from the University of Leeds, she successfully set up Sofar Sounds in India, and worked as a vocal instructor for a brief stint. Subsequently, over her 6 year tenure with Sofar Sounds as the global community operations manager, she established systems and processes for fan engagement, quality assurance, scale and innovation for the 400+ strong curator community and scaled, developed and represented them across company verticals.
