NBs Layered Cakes & Swiss Roll Workshop
Courses

Back with another workshop for home bakers! This is all about creating, and assembling delivery safe celebration cakes. Cakes are always and forever in demand, and you want to make sure you are sending out the best looking, and even better tasting cakes.

In this workshop, you will learn:

Cake sponges

There is a wide variety of cake sponges that you can use to make the most versatile layered cakes. We’ll be covering both, egg and eggless versions, along with flavour variations.

Bonus recipe: I will also be sharing my very own swiss roll recipe! This is the only time I’ll be doing this so make sure to register if you want to learn how to make crack free, super airy, and super soft swiss rolls, every. single. time.

Stable Frostings & Spreadables

The most important aspect while layering cakes is to make sure you are using frostings that are very stable, and will keep your cake intact, even during far away deliveries. You also need to make sure your cakes are packed with flavour, and spreadables that go in between the layers are a great way to do that.

Mousses & Fillings

Adding texture to layered cakes is always a good idea. Learn how to make a few different light and airy fillings, mousses that will help take your cake to the next level.

Garnishes & Crunchy Bits

Garnishes can make or break the look of your layered cake. After putting all that effort into making a stable and delicious cake, you also need to go the extra mile to make the cake look its best.

We don’t believe in adding elements just for the sake of the look, rather making our garnishes an equal part of the cake eating process, making sure nothing goes to waste, and instead adds more flavour and texture.

We will also discuss a few piping techniques and spatula strokes that take next to no time, but make your cakes look stunning!

All about Assembling, Storing, and Safely Delivering cakes

Probably the most nerve wrecking aspect for home bakers is making sure your cakes get delivered in the exact same way they left your kitchen. I will take you through the step by step process of assembling your cakes, and how to make sure deliveries are done safely.

Production and Time Management

A lot of home bakers are either working solo, or with a very small team. Doing everything on your own can get taxing but if your work is divided in a scheduled manner, everyday hustle gets much less and your days go by smoother, leaving you with more time to engage with more customers and make more desserts in the same amount of time.
