This intensive Python for DevOps Bootcamp equips you with the skills to build high-quality, real-world automation scripts on AWS.


I will go through Python concepts that are important for any Devops engineer, and use that to build real-world automation that will look great on your Devops resume.


Pre-requisites:

  • Python basics.
  • AWS basics.


Note: I will provide the call recording and the complete code used in the BootCamp.


During this course, we will be building 10 projects.

  1. Python script that runs on a schedule and removes the old Linux kernels from running/stopped AWS ec2 VMs across multiple AWS accounts.
  2. Use boto3 API to pull the Excel report of all rds databases with details like allocated storage, used storage, and potential cost savings.
  3. Database migration across Postgres database instances using pg_dump/pg_restore and pgsync tools.
  4. Python script to tag ec2 instances on launch with owner details. This script will be used with AWS Lambda.
  5. Python script to find all the unencrypted SQS queues and encrypt them with a customer-managed key.
  6. Python script that will find AWS lambda running with outdated Python and node runtime(python 3.8, nodejs 16x) and update the runtime to the latest.
  7. Use Python script to fetch any data from a JSON document. We will write from a JSON file, fetch the dataset, and write that to an Excel file.
  8. Python script to find the AWS IAM policies(managed and inline) with excessive permissions.
  9. Python script that uses Python requests module to make API CRUD(Create, read, update, delete)requests.
  10. Build a custom dashboard to monitor various AWS resources.
